Press Release – For Immediate Release
Mid-America Based T & E Communications Installing first NEC UNIVERGE SV9500 UMGi Communications System in North America
Major Level One Trauma Hospital Upgrades for Future with UMGi
Irving, TX – March 8, 2017 – T & E Communications of St. Louis, Missouri, a regional leader in providing IT and communications solutions and dedicated NEC Corporation of America (NEC) re-seller, has deployed the first NEC UNIVERGE® SV9500 UMGi (Ultra Module Group IP) system in North America to an expanding Level One trauma hospital. The hospital is under construction and upgrading from its previous NEC UNIVERGE NEAX 2400 IPX system to take advantage of the scale, flexibility and mobility inherent in the NEC SV9500.
“Continuing enhancements, along with new hardware components and features, provide existing NEC customers solid reasons to migrate older platforms to the UNIVERGE SV9500,” said Larry Levenberg, vice president, NEC Corporation of America. “It seems every hospital administrator wants to streamline clinical workflows and enable better patient care. The SV9500 lets hospitals meet the challenges of healthcare information sharing head on. From managing the flow of the patients in the reception area, to ensuring that physicians, nurses, and staff can be reached from one secure phone extension wherever they may be in the hospital, enhances the overall patient experience. The SV9500 is a unique solution that reduces the administrative and process-driven strains on a hospital’s IT system, so their staff can get back to what they do best: caring for patients.”
The SV9500 UMGi is a powerful communications platform designed with today's mobile customer in mind. T & E Communications embraces a tried and tested mix of leading edge technology and high–end customer service. The hospital had been a T & E service maintenance customer for a number of years before looking to lock-in plans to upgrade their communications platform. The system, the first UMGi & Collapsed Fusion network in the USA, allows the hospital to reuse existing hardware, reduce its support staff (multiple paths to one), reduce complicated programming, and add all modern telco technologies (SIP/IP-SDN) when necessary. There is also a shorter training curve as support software is the same.
“This UMGi solution allows our clients to significantly boost their productivity across their organization, said Elaine Dames, president, T & E Communications, LLC. “We celebrate our fifth anniversary this year and recognize that many companies in hospitality and healthcare have campus type layouts. The UMGi supports the ability to locate nodes -- both IP and traditional TDM stations and trunks -- across an entire geographical network. Although nodes may be in different physical locations, UMGi is one single system with a single database and maintenance facilities. The UMGi is designed to be remarkably scalable in simple increments, by node, up to the total system capacity of 16,000 IP stations, within 24,576 total ports.”
